Saturday 24th July 2010
The first day of the 2010 Whitstable Oyster Festival. The Food Epicentre gets into full swing, the Oysters are landed, blessed and delivered through the town as part of the Oyster Parade. With Street Entertainment abounding the crowds went home happy.

Sunday 25th July 2010
Day 2 and once again Whitstable Harbour is jammed packed full of people, the glorious aroma of do many different wholesome foods, whilst the oysters are going down by the thousands. Street Entertainment troupes wander the day surprising and delighting visitors and a returning oyster eating champion holds onto his crown.

Monday 26th July 2010
Having run out of oysters we turn to the community events with opportunities for children to create (with more than a little help from their parents!) and a treat for them with Alice and her Adventures in Wonderland.
Children add colour to the Library forecourt here.

Tuesday 27th July
Today the youngsters had a chance to learn about boats with the Whitstable Yacht Club, produce more terracotta figures on the production line at the Horsebridge and enjoy classic Punch & Judy with Prof. Des Turner. For the adults in the evening a choice of Comedy at the Playhouse, the Oyster Festival Quiz, or a 100 years of Whitstable in Film with Tony Blake.

Wednesday 28th July
Children of all ages crowd Tankerton Slopes as the sky fills with colour and activity. The prizewinners were chosen randomly by description. Coincidentally, with one winner two more children fitted the description exactly but they go home with a bonus prize. The Terracotta Are Me grows some more and we cool off at the A1 art exhibition.

Thursday 29th July
Another busy day, this time juxtaposed with Whitstable history. Building Grotters on the beach as children around coastal towns may have done centuries ago but now only found in Whitstable. In the evening, amongst the Grotters, the ancient Blessing of the Waters. As the sun sets the Grotters glow for in the morning they will be gone.
