MAD Streets

MAD Streets

Various times and locations

Keep your eyes peeled for great entertainment from some winners of this year’s Marlowe Arts Development Fund (MAD). Awarded annually by Canterbury City Council to promote and develop street theatre, this years MAD winners include Dan Simpson and the Galloping Cuckoos.

In Poetry to the People, life long poetry campaigner Dan Simpson aims to find the rhythm in rhetoric and put the poetry in politics; canvassing the people to get to the bottom of issues that effect us all, like which ice-cream flavour really is the best!

Elsewhere, The Galloping Cuckoos are searching the streets and sites of Kent for a HUGe Nest to become their perfect nesting site. Housed in their lifesize, fully mobile willow birdcage, four cuddly and huggable bird girls are on a mission to bring a smile to your face and ultimately hug you.
