The Oyster Parade

From the Harbour to Harbour Street and through the High Street to the Library in Oxford Street, the Oyster Parade is wonderfully Whitstable! The Lord Mayor leads local giants, musicians, performers and scores of Whitstable people in this colourful, noisy procession. Along the way, the Lord Mayor will give free oysters to inn-owners and restaurateurs echoing the official start of the Oyster season in days of old.
